Must see - GREAT!!!! July 19, 2010 Canon photographer You just have to see this series - can't be described in words, has to be watched. Full recommendation and admire. Buy it, buy it - but consider the version available featuring season 1 - 3 ;o)
Brilliant June 30, 2010 Cormac Mac (London) One the true greats. Just make sure you don't have asthma when you watch it!
Fantastic June 15, 2010 B.Ross (Antigua) I bought the first season of this show because I'd heard the odd positive comment and that they had won several awards year after year. It is just fantastic. Everything about it - acting, storyline, music and lets not even mention wardrobe - the clothes on Sex and the City pale in comparison. If you enjoy intelligent top notch television, this is for you.
Amazing fiction May 22, 2010 Rachel (UK) How could I have missed this!I only fell for Mad Men in Season 3 and have been hooked since. Glorious 60's, gorgeous men and women, gorgeous dresses, non stop smoking, drinking, a world without barriers and fears where everything sounded possible, may be not so if you were a woman, or gay but still. This serie about an ad agency in New-York is such a thrill, colourfull, well written, where heroes are weak and serious cowards but still lovable. Everybody in this serie looks glamourous, Betty Draper is the new Grace Kelly of the suburbs and Don her husband a real Don Juan, do I need to say more, one not to miss.
Top entertainment May 15, 2010 Susan Moffitt When Mad Men was on TV I resisted watching it - too much of a time-commitment and I thought setting a drama in an ad agency would be media navel-gazing and disappointing. But after reading a few articles I realised it was deeper and darker than I had expected. The box-set is the perfect way to immerse yourself in the series. The stories behind the characters are intriguingly plotted; sometimes resolved immediately, sometimes over several episodes or sometimes not at all, allowing the viewer to fill in their own interpretation. It feels well-researched and rooted in real-life events without being a slavish period drama. It looks gorgeous and the soundtrack is great. My only caveats are the occasional dreadful continuity errors (were the TV shows edited down for the DVD?) and the Brits are stereotype chinless twits. But that's a small gripe compared to the overall quality of this drama.
